The following are sharings by devotees in response to the Story of Trailinga Swami.
Swamiji and Shree Maa have said that we have three debts of karma; to
the Devas, to our Ancestors, and to our Gurus. Trailinga Swami shows us that the dharmic path includes fulfilling karmic duty. Doing so with attention, right attitude, and discernment, may bring blessings and actually help us in our spiritual journey.
I also recognize the devotion and dedication of Shivaram's mother to
God and to her family. Clearly her devotion was also a blessing to Shivaram.

It is really interesting how the story Mother tells is that this dedicated being took care of his mother before he took off as a renunciate. That helps me a lot.

The story demonstrates the path of sincere devotion and surrender. "His Mother requested him to remain with her so long as she lived": - this sentence is like Divine Mother talking to her child and reminds me of my prayer to Her in puja: "for as long as I remain sitting still, Mother please stay until my offer of worship is complete." I also like the fact that Bidayabati and Narasingh were on the same spiritual path and did sadhana together.

The lesson I have thus far learned from my illness, is similar to what i learnt from this story. I believe what Trailinga Swami showed so wonderfully in respecting his mother's wishes, is patience.

This reinforces that which I strive towards... to follow the path shown by the Guru, keep your faith, perform your duties truthfully, do not worry so much about the results, surrender yourself and things will fall in place.
