Cosmic Puja

~~OM~~

Samasti means Universal, Infinite, beyond the realms of sensory knowledge, Cosmic. It is ofen contrasted with Vyasti, which indicates a particular, individual form, something definable by the minds of humans. Upasana means worship or meditation. Therefore this Samasti Upasana, or Cosmic Puja, as we have called it, is the meditation or worship on the Universal Divinity, the Infinite, beyond the realms of sensory knowledge, or all the forms of the divinity of existence. Pu means Punya, merits; Ja means Jata, to give birth. Puja describes the actions that give birth to merits. The action of the greatest merit is to guide one's awareness into the presence of God, and to maintain that presence as long as possible. To that objective this Cosmic Puja is intended to lead us.
Puja is a way of life more than a practice. Just as with any desired trait, we begin by practice until the behavior becomes instinctual. We practice worship until our lives become instinctually an offering of respect in which the most important criteria for success is the quality of peace that we are aware of at any moment. This Cosmic Puja, the worship of all the Divine Beings of the Universe, is designed to guide our meditations into that quality of true reverence in which we actually pay attention, even go beyond into absorption, where union between the perceiver and the object of perception is the proof of the transcendence of duality.
