The Guru and the Goddess: Review 5I have been chanting the Lalita Sahasranam (1000 names of Divine Mother, Lalita) for some time now. I came across this book and saw the translation of Lalita Trishathi (300 names). I feel so fortunate. I am really, really enjoying reading these names and they have enriched my practice considerably. The Guru and the Goddess: Review 4I love The Guru and the Goddess book. Chanting the Guru Gita is very powerful and the translation here makes the meanings come alive and be practically applicable. The Kashyap sutra discussions are awesome! Can’t imagine how wonderful it must have been to be there!! Overall, great book – highly recommended Haresh Pilani, New York Submitted by webdev on Wed, 2006-06-21 12:29.
The Guru and the Goddess: Review 3This book is a combination of three texts: Kashyapa Sutras, Guru Gita and Lalitha Trishati. Each of them, in themselves, would have been a perfect and beautiful gift. Taken together, they are a bouquet of flowers fragrant with divine knowledge and pure love. I would happily recommend this book for building a strong and lasting relationship with Divine Mother. Sandra Ostrom, New York Submitted by webdev on Wed, 2006-06-21 12:28.
The Guru and the Goddess: Review 2I really liked the translation of the Guru Gita. It removed many conflicts in my mind about my relationship with my Guru and helped me have more clarity and deeper devotion. I am grateful to Swami Satyananda for this translation and strongly recommend this book. Prithvi Mohan, San Jose. Submitted by webdev on Wed, 2006-06-21 12:26.
The Guru and the Goddess: Review 1This book is a veritable treasure chest – The Kashyapa Sutras are translated and explained in such detail that you feel you are in the direct presence of Kashyapa Muni (the sage who expounded these sutras or sayings). There are many, many helpful hints for a spiritual seeker at any point on his path to Divine. Rajesh Bhalla, Castro Valley Submitted by webdev on Wed, 2006-06-21 12:24.
Sundar Kanda Review 5The most beautiful translation of Sundar Kand I have seen thus far! I love reading it again and again and again. Jai Sri Ram! Ramesh Chand, St Louis Submitted by webdev on Wed, 2006-06-21 11:11.
Sundar Kanda Review 4Ram, Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman – all come alive in Sundar Kand book by Swami Satyananda – it is great for reciting in a group as well as individually. Our family is enjoying the book and the translation. Thank you Swamiji! Rakesh Gupta and family, San Jose Submitted by webdev on Wed, 2006-06-21 11:09.
Sundar Kanda Review 3There are few stories as beautiful as the Ramayana and yet there is so much learning and subtlety behind the story. Swami Satyananda’s translation of Sundar Kand helps us to understand this portion of the Ramayana at different levels – what is happening outside in the story and what is happening at more subtle levels. Last but not the least – is shows us how to understand the story of Ramayana in our own lives – it is a great book for all these and many more reasons – which you will understand when you read it yourself!!! Sundar Kanda Review 2The great thing about Swami Satyananda’s Sundar Kanda is that it is the only Sundar Kanda that I have seen which has both devanaagri, English transliteration and translation. It is accessible for everybody. By the way, it also has Bengali! The translation makes the story jump up at you. I recommend it highly.
