It says in the Shiva Chalisa (available in both Beginner Shiva Puja book/ Shiva Puja and Advanced Yajna books ) that it is particularly auspicious to chant these verses on the 13th day of the Lunar fortnight.
2) Chant the Mantra for Venus
Learn the mantra for the planet here
3) Chant the Mahalakshmi Ashtakam
It is beneficial to pray to Lakshmi especially on Fridays. Hear Shree Maa sing this text - here The words are available in the Lakshmi Puja book from the bookstore.
